The Barhampur Sports Association has taken a strong step towards establishing women’s football in the sporting arena. Under the leadership of Barhampur Sports Association President and MLA Bijoy Malakar, and the dedication of General Secretary and sports organizer Shravan Baruah, a unique initiative for women’s football has begun in Barhampur.
Approximately 31 women players from Hailakandi and Karimganj have arrived to develop their talents in women’s football. Present at the Barhampur Thangi Sut Sports Field, these women players from various nearby areas are participating alongside the women’s football team of Ratabari in a two-day residential camp. This initiative for women’s football in Barhampur has brought a message of hope for the future of the sport in the region.
