The historic Nagaon Sports Association’s Nurul Amin Stadium will host an “IPL Fan Park” on May 16 and 17. This was announced today at a press conference held in the meeting room of the Nagaon Sports Club by Amit Siddharth, an official from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He stated that although the state lacks stadiums with adequate facilities compared to other parts of the country, the Fan Park is being organized to cater to the immense popularity of cricket and the passion of the fans.
Matches will be shown live on giant screens, free of charge for the public. On May 16, the event begins at 6:00 PM. On May 17, the screening will start at 2:00 PM for the afternoon match and 6:00 PM for the evening match. To recreate a stadium-like atmosphere, the Fan Park will feature entertainment such as music, face painting, food stalls, and various fun activities (fanzones) for supporters to enjoy. General Secretary of the Nagaon Sports Association, Tapan Kumar Das, along with officials Ujjal Baruah and Amrish Kumar Taran, were present at the press meet. They noted that preparations for the Fan Park are in the final stages. Special arrangements have also been made to ensure that senior citizens and persons with disabilities can comfortably enjoy the event.
