Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Child Care Centre (NBWCCC), Guwahati, in association with the North East Obstetrics & Gynaecological Society, organised Scientific Symposium 2026, bringing together leading clinicians, specialists and healthcare professionals to discuss emerging trends and advancements in women’s healthcare.
The symposium was attended by distinguished experts, including Dr. Panchanan Das, President of the North East Obstetrics & Gynaecological Society, who graced the event as Guest of Honour. Senior officials of Ambuja Neotia Healthcare Venture Limited, including Parthiv Neotia, Joint Managing Director, P. L. Mehta, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, and Ruma Banerjee, Joint President and Chief Operating Officer, were also present.
The scientific sessions focused on key areas of obstetrics and gynaecology such as high-risk pregnancies, infertility, endometriosis, maternal healthcare and minimally invasive surgical techniques. Experts shared insights on evidence-based clinical practices and emerging healthcare challenges affecting women.
Among the notable presentations, Prof. Dr. Krishnendu Gupta spoke on the impact of climate change and environmental pollution on women’s health, Dr. Swagata Baishya discussed infertility management, while Dr. Sujata Dutta highlighted recent advancements in laparoscopic procedures.
The symposium also featured panel discussions on high-risk pregnancy management, personalised fertility treatments and evolving approaches to endometriosis care. Several renowned clinicians and academicians contributed to the deliberations, enriching the exchange of knowledge and clinical experiences.
Speaking on the occasion, Parthiv Neotia said that advancing women’s healthcare requires continuous learning, collaboration and adaptation to emerging medical developments. He emphasised the importance of Guwahati as a healthcare hub for the Northeast and reaffirmed NBWCCC’s commitment to patient-centric and evidence-based care.
The event also marked the institution’s nearly 25-year journey in women and child healthcare, highlighting its continued focus on multidisciplinary care, clinical excellence and innovation.
