Axis Bank, one of India’s leading private sector banks, recently opened its first digital locker-centric branch in the national capital, New Delhi. This new branch marks a significant step in providing secure banking through advanced automation, high-level security, and state-of-the-art locker services.
The branch was inaugurated by M. Nagaraju, Secretary of the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, and Ashok Tyagi, Managing Director of DLF. Senior leadership from Axis Bank, including Managing Director and CEO Amitabh Chaudhry and Executive Director Munish Sharda, were also present at the event. According to sources, nearly 60 million (6 crore) Indians will require bank lockers by the year 2030.
At present, only about 6 million (60 lakh) lockers are available.
This gap is most evident in large cities where lifestyles are increasingly centered around apartments and residential complexes.
