Dipan Medhi of Azara has brought pride to Assam by winning the global ‘Iron Man’ title held in Vietnam. Around five thousand athletes from more than 90 countries across the world participated in the competition.
Dipan Medhi won the title by completing all the events in the competition. He successfully completed a 3.8 km swim, 180 km of cycling, and a 42.2 km marathon.
Dipan Medhi is the son of former soldier Pabitra Medhi and Tarulata Medhi, residents of Ojapara in Azara, located on the western fringes of Guwahati city. The people of the greater region are jubilant over his grand success.
