An explosive half-century from Abhishek Sharma and timely bowling from Ehsan Malinga and Nitin Kumar Reddy, Sunrisers Hyderabad tasted their third victory. In today’s match, Sunrisers easily defeated Chennai Super Kings by 10 runs. This is Chennai’s fourth defeat in six matches.
Batting first, the Abhishek-Head duo gave an explosive start, scoring 75 runs in 5.5 overs. Abhishek completed his half-century with the help of four sixes and five boundaries. At the team score of 75, Head (23) and Ishan Kishan (0) departed in two balls from Mukesh Choudhary.
After Abhishek got out for 59, Sunrisers managed to score 194 runs for the loss of 9 wickets with the help of Heinrich Klaasen’s 59 runs. Anshul Kamboj and Jamie Overton took three wickets each.
Chasing a tough target of 195, Chennai were halted at 184 for 8 wickets due to excellent bowling from Nitish Kumar Reddy and Ehsan Malinga. While Malinga took three wickets, Nitish took two. Matthew Short’s 34 runs was the highest individual score for Chennai. With this win, Sunrisers surpassed Delhi to move up to fourth place.
