After a gap of one year, Inter Milan has almost cleared the path to winning the Italian league title. By easily defeating Cagliari 3-0 last night, the star-studded team increased their lead to 12 points over the defending champions, Napoli, who are in second place in the league table. With six matches remaining, Inter Milan will secure the title if they win any three of them.
Although they dominated last night’s match, Inter Milan had to wait until the 52nd minute for a goal. Marcus Thuram scored the first goal, and just 8 minutes later, Nicolo Barella doubled the lead. Piotr Zieliński scored the third goal during stoppage time. Although Cagliari put up a resistance in the first half, they surrendered after the interval.
