Along with the political changes in Bangladesh, significant changes have also reached the cricket field of the country. Following the massive shift in the nation’s political landscape, widespread instability has emerged within the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). In a single day, four directors of the BCB have submitted their resignations. Notably, a meeting of the BCB was held on Saturday.
It is worth mentioning that recently, the Bangladesh Sports Ministry has been putting pressure on the BCB regarding several issues. Essentially, the Sports Ministry raised questions about the selection process of the BCB and the reasons behind the team’s failure in the T-20 World Cup, leading to the resignations. Furthermore, the Ministry has raised serious allegations of political interference within the BCB. In light of these developments, the current leadership of the BCB has become uncertain.
Following the meeting held on Saturday, four directors of the BCB resigned. Prior to this, three other directors had already resigned. It is noted that the Bangladesh Cricket Board consists of a total of 25 directors.
