An executive meeting of the Kamrup Referee Board, under the Kamrup District Sports Association, was held yesterday evening at the Bamundi Tarun Sangha and Library auditorium in Hajo.
Meeting Proceedings
The meeting was presided over by the Board’s Working President, Birendra Kumar Das, and facilitated by the General Secretary, Prabhat Kalita. During the session, Treasurer Bhabin Chandra Bharali presented the income and expenditure accounts from the Board’s recent biennial session.
After discussing several important organizational matters, the Board officially decided to conduct the annual physical fitness test for all referees in the Kamrup district by June 15.
During the meeting, a special felicitation ceremony was held for national referee Zeherul Islam. He was honored with a Phulam Gamosa (traditional handwoven scarf) and a Phulam Japi (traditional headgear) for bringing pride to the state and Kamrup district by officiating in the ISL (Indian Super League), India’s premier football tournament organized by the All India Football Federation. The meeting saw participation from several key figures who offered constructive suggestions, Vice Presidents: Madhav Chandra Kalita and Tarun Kalita. Bamundi Sports Association: President Pranab Kumar Sharma and Secretary Jyotirmoy Kalita. Many other local referees were also in attendance.
