The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has released the schedule for the Thomas Cup quarter-finals. According to the list published in Denmark today, India will face Chinese Taipei in the quarter-finals.
It is worth noting that India concluded their campaign in the group stage in second place. While India occupied second place in Group ‘A’, defending champions China stood at the top of the group. On the other hand, Chinese Taipei entered the quarter-finals by securing the top spot in Group ‘C’.
India began their campaign with a 4-1 victory. In the next stage, the Indian shuttlers crushed Australia with a 5-0 scoreline . However, in the subsequent round, the Indian badminton team was defeated by China with a 2-3 margin. It is noteworthy that in the current tournament, Indian shuttler Ayush Shetty has been able to put up a beautiful performance. He has won all three singles matches he has participated in so far. In contrast, India’s star shuttler Lakshya Sen has not been able to perform as expected. He has faced defeat in two of the singles matches he has played so far. Lakshya’s weak form is a matter of some concern for the Indian camp before the quarter-finals.
It is also mentioned that India, the 2022 champions, had started their journey against Canada.
