The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its official election manifesto for the 2026 Assam Assembly polls, centering its vision on “Suraksha, Samriddhi, and Sanskriti” (Security, Prosperity, and Culture). The document outlines a comprehensive strategy to transform Assam into a top-tier state by the end of the decade. A primary focus of the manifesto is the “Orunodoi 3.0” scheme, which pledges to increase monthly financial assistance to women and expand the beneficiary base to include more low-income families. Additionally, the party has promised a massive infrastructure push, including the completion of several key bridges over the Brahmaputra and the expansion of the high-speed “Double Engine” railway network across the Northeast.
Beyond economic development, the manifesto places a heavy emphasis on safeguarding indigenous rights and cultural heritage. Key highlights include the commitment to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) to ensure gender justice and legal uniformity, alongside a “zero-tolerance” policy toward illegal infiltration. The BJP also pledged to digitize and protect Satra (monastery) lands from encroachment and to create a specialized “Task Force” for the protection of indigenous languages. As the campaign intensifies, the party is positioning this “Sankalp Patra” as a definitive contract with the people of Assam, blending modernized governance with a firm promise to preserve the state’s unique civilizational identity.
