Apple has announced that it will invest 100 crore rupees in India’s renewable energy sector. In the first phase, this fund will be used to create 150 megawatts of solar power capacity in India. The primary goal of this investment by Apple is to increase its clean energy footprint, reduce pollution caused by traditional power, and promote green entrepreneurship in India. Apple has partnered with CleanMax for the implementation of this plan.
Regarding their commitment to the environment, Apple stated that their focus on innovation remains intertwined with environmental responsibility. Apple further clarified that the 150-megawatt green energy project they are set to create will be able to supply power to approximately 1.50 lakh (150,000) Indian households annually.
