The Western Sumi Hoho (WSH), led by president Tokuho Suhoi Neho, paid a courtesy visit to Dimapur Commissioner of Police Aotula T Imchen on Wednesday and held detailed discussions on pressing social issues. During the meeting, the WSH appreciated the Commissioner’s efforts to curb illegal activities and assured its full cooperation in promoting peace and social harmony in the community. The Commissioner, in turn, expressed concern over the influx of illegal immigrants and the growing problem of drug abuse among youths. She urged the Hoho to play an active role in guiding young people towards constructive and self-reliant pursuits. She particularly encouraged youths to prepare seriously for competitive examinations and avoid dependency, stressing the importance of education, discipline and self-reliance for a better future. The interaction underscored the need for continued cooperation between community organisations and the police to address emerging social challenges and strengthen peace and security in Dimapur.
