Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) organised a ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’ programme on Monday under the Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect initiative of the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The programme aimed to encourage young people to adopt a drug-free lifestyle while promoting volunteerism, leadership, responsible citizenship and active participation in the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. Students, research scholars, NSS volunteers, faculty members and university officials participated in the event. Union Youth Affairs and Sports youth icon Yadam Bagang delivered a special address on ‘Viksit Bharat @2047 and Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’.
She urged young people to become ambassadors of a drug-free society and highlighted the importance of discipline, innovation, leadership and social responsibility in building a developed India by 2047. An awareness video on Nasha Mukt Bharat was screened to highlight the harmful effects of substance abuse and the importance of prevention. Participants also took a youth pledge, reaffirming their commitment to staying away from drugs and contributing positively to society. A question-and-answer session allowed students and research scholars to interact with the youth icon and MY Bharat officials on youth development, volunteerism, career opportunities and national initiatives. Many participants also registered on the MY Bharat portal, joining the wider national youth movement.
