Reliance is gearing up to strengthen its presence in the artificial satellite connection sector. This move by Mukesh Ambani’s company is set to pose a direct challenge to Elon Musk’s Starlink, Jeff Bezos’s Amazon Kuiper, and other similar organizations. Reliance aims to establish a strong position in the field of artificial satellites, specifically focusing on Low Earth Orbit (LEO) technology. A joint venture between Reliance Jio and SES (Satellite-based data and digital business management), known as JioSpaceFiber (JPL), will manage this new business. To work under this project, the company has formed a specialized team. Key departments within this project include: Satellite Launch, Payload, User Terminal . The leadership of this space project is being overseen by Mukesh Ambani himself, along with several top officials, including Reliance Chairman Sri K. Viswanathan, Jio Platforms CEO Kiran Thomas, and senior scientist Ayush Bhatnagar of JPL.
Reliance’s entry into this sector is expected to accelerate the availability of high-speed satellite internet across India, especially in remote areas where traditional fiber optics are difficult to install.
