The Guwahati City Chess Championship-2026 (Under-9 years) commenced today at the Guwahati Chess Academy located on Radha Govinda Baruah Road in Guwahati. At the end of the third round, in the Under-9 boys’ category, top-seeded Maitrav Baruah, second-seeded Reyan Nabish, Srihan Kumar Hore, Riddhiman Bhuyan, and Gaurav Sarma have jointly taken the lead by scoring 3 points each.
Maitrav defeated Ayansh Das, Reyan defeated Aaradhik Thakuria, Gaurav Sarma defeated Jishan Kashyap Borah, Srihan Hore defeated Aaradhik Banik, and Riddhiman Bhuyan defeated Baibhav Bhargav.
In the Under-9 girls’ category, Aaradhika Giri secured the sole lead by scoring three points at the end of three rounds. On the other hand, Sanvi Kashyap and Bhargavi Patgiri scored 2.5 points each to joint.
