A tragic incident took place at Arunachal Kumarpara in Assam’s Cachar district, where four people lost their lives while cleaning a water tank.
According to reports, the victims had entered the water tank of a newly constructed house to clean it. One after another, all four entered the deep tank and died inside, triggering panic in the area.
Preliminary suspicion suggests that the deaths were caused by exposure to toxic gases accumulated inside the tank.
Later, a courageous individual risked his own life to enter the tank and retrieve the bodies of all four victims.
Following the incident, teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the police rushed to the spot, launched a rescue operation and initiated an investigation into the incident.
The bodies have been sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination.
