The Gatrani-Ply Jorhat Asian Junior Under-16 Ranking Tennis Tournament, organized under the supervision of the Asian Tennis Federation at the Jorhat Tennis Club, successfully concluded today. In the tournament, which saw participation from over a hundred competitors across the country in both categories, Assam’s Niuraz Kausar Hussain won the title in the singles category, while Telangana’s Nisha Enja achieved a double crown. In the final match of the boys’ Under-16 singles category, Niuraz Kausar Hussain defeated Ayan Chawla in straight sets 6-4, 6-1 to clinch the title.
On the other hand, in the final match of the girls’ Under-16 singles category, Nisha Enja defeated Vaidehi Shinde 6-3, 6-0 to become the champion. In the girls’ doubles final, the duo of B. Bukapuram and Nisha Enja defeated Avani Punaganti and Vaidehi Shinde 6-3, 6-2 to claim the championship. Meanwhile, in the boys’ doubles final match, the pair of Chandra Mohanty and Chandogya Pathak defeated Habish Bagpal and Swapnil Ghosh 6-4, 6-0 to emerge as champions.
