Delhi Capitals’ pace bowler Kyle Jamieson faced punishment after dismissing Vaibhav Suryavanshi. It is every bowler’s dream to dismiss this young talent. Everyone knows the havoc Vaibhav can wreak on bowlers if he stays at the crease. Dismissing Vaibhav is like having the match in hand. The 13-year-old Vaibhav is currently a terror for bowlers. Naturally, Jamieson expressed immense joy after getting such a batsman out on his second ball.
However, Jamieson’s celebration crossed the limits of moderation. Consequently, he had to face a fine. Jamieson was bowling the second over of the match on Friday. After bowling the first three balls excellently, Vaibhav and Jamieson came face-to-face on the fourth ball. Vaibhav hit a boundary on the very first ball. On the second ball, Vaibhav was out. Following the wicket, Jamieson became ecstatic with joy.
Jamieson gestured toward the pavilion with his hands as he celebrated. This was deemed an “excessive celebration” according to the IPL Code of Conduct. The match referee called the incident a level-one offense and cautioned the player. The referee found him guilty and warned him. One demerit point was added to Jamieson’s name. If such an offense is repeated, Jamieson will face a severe penalty.
