Indian Meteorological Department issued forecast predicting heavy rainfall in northeast and eastern India

The India Meteorological Department predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall over Northeast and eastern India over the next seven days, with extreme downpours expected in specific pockets. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala are expected to receive intense rainfall on August 2 and 3. Southern states, including Tamil Nadu and Kerala, are expected to experience sustained heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next six to seven days.
