Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya officially opened the newly built academic building of the North East Military School, situated in Havaragaon, Bijni, Chirang.
The construction of the academic building incurred a total cost of ₹2 crore, funded by the Assam Government’s Untied Fund for the financial year 2024–25. The inauguration ceremony was held on Saturday, attended by various dignitaries.
It is noteworthy that the North East Military School, which was established in 2019, received formal recognition from the Ministry of Defence’s Sainik Board this year.
Currently, there are 76 students enrolled in the institution, ranging from Class 6 to Class 12.
The event saw the participation of Bijni MLA Ajay Kumar Roy, the President of the North East Military School and former MLA Kamalsing Narzary, Executive President Dr. Ratan Roy, Chief Advisor Dr. Hitesh Bardoloi, BTR Executive Member Dhananjay Basumatary, Vice President Abhiram Mahanayak, along with other distinguished guests.
