On Wednesday, officials reported that police apprehended three individuals and confiscated heroin estimated to be worth around Rs 20 lakh near the Arunachal Pradesh–Assam border.
Following a tip-off, a collaborative team comprising Arunachal Pradesh Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) stopped a vehicle at the Banderdewa check gate.

Upon inspecting the vehicle, officers found 40 grams of heroin concealed in a green plastic bag located under the car’s bonnet, according to Naharlagun Superintendent of Police (SP) Nyelam Nega.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Tania Tatar (30), who resides in Pachin Colony in Naharlagun, was arrested at the scene.
During the interrogation, Tatar disclosed that the drugs had been obtained from Jiten Biswas, a suspected drug dealer operating in Harmuti, located in Assam’s Lakhimpur district.
