Assam Chief Secretary Ravi Kota on Wednesday chaired the second meeting of the Task Force constituted to create two lakh government employment opportunities in Assam.
The members updated the meeting on the yearwise vacancies arising over next three to four years department wise and deliberated on a comprehensive strategy to expand employment through recruitment, and also other means so that support services to the departments are also in place over a period of time.
It also examined the feasibility of creating more employment beyond the sanctioned posts by streamlining engagement process by establishing a State Government-owned Outsourcing Corporation, drawing on models adopted by other States.
“This would help supporting services such as housekeeping, hygiene, and other support services,” Kota said.
Various subcommittees made their presentations.
“These discussions reinforced our resolve to pursue a coordinated and time-bound approach to creating meaningful opportunities for the youth of Assam, while laying the foundation for sustainable, enterprise-led growth,” the Chief Secretary said.
