The Arunachal Pradesh government has promoted Inspector Dumgandu Singpho to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), recognising his dedicated service and contributions, particularly in anti-narcotics operations. The Home Department issued the official notification on July 29.
The promotion was approved following the recommendation of the Departmental Promotion Committee and will take effect from July 23, 2026. Singpho is among the 10 Civil Police Inspectors who have been elevated to the Arunachal Pradesh Police Service (APPS).
A resident of Bordumsa Dirak Na (Dirakpothar) village in Changlang district, Singpho is currently serving as the Officer-in-Charge of Sunpura Police Station in Lohit district. His promotion marks a significant milestone in his policing career and acknowledges his commitment to law enforcement.
Before entering the police service as a Sub-Inspector, Singpho worked as a government school teacher. Over the years, he has handled several criminal investigations and played a key role in leading anti-narcotics operations in eastern Arunachal Pradesh.
His efforts in tackling drug-related activities and maintaining law and order have earned him recognition within the department. The elevation of Singpho, along with other police officers, is expected to further strengthen the leadership structure of the Arunachal Pradesh Police Service and encourage dedicated service among personnel.
